Dove EvenTone Deodorant Review

For the past two weeks I’ve been testing out the new Dove Eventone Deodorant. The lovely ladies at Rubybox sent it my way and gave me some information on this new little product:

What makes it different?

Due to hair removal methods like shaving and waxing, you might find that your underarm skin may be feeling the effects of the harsh treatment- resulting in dark marks on the skin. Dove has created new Eventone Deodorant to combat dark underarms by creating a formula with 1/4 moisturizing cream and calendula extract to help improve the appearance of the underarms.

It also promises 48 hour protection!

My opinion??

It feels great to use and I have definitely felt an improvement in the skin under my arms, it feels much softer even after I’ve shaved and I’ve noticed an improvement in its appearance.

Here are my before and after pictures:

As for it promising 48 hour protection, I’m yet to find a Deodorant which promises this and actually means it. I’m an active girl and on days when I’m working out, I’ve experienced that I’ll need to apply this Deodorant more than once to stay fresh. On normal days, however it lasts at least 24 hours, but the smell does start to fade and the protection seems to wear of throughout the day, not leaving me as fresh as I would like.

The verdict?

All in all, it’s an awesome product if you’re looking to take care of your skin under your arms then this new formula is for you. As a Deodorant, it gets the job done to a certain extent but you may need to reapply during the day!

Here’s what my friend, Nicole had to say about it:

“I enjoyed the moisturising effect that Dove eventone has and the fact that it was sensitive enough for my skin. However I feel that it didn’t have enough odor control for me and didn’t it didn’t provide me with 48 hours of antiperspirant.”

Will you be trying this product out??

Until next time!

Dove Derma Spa Hand Treatment Review

Hey there 20 Somethings!

As someone who suffers from extremely dry hands, especially at this time of the year, I am always on the hunt for a good hand lotion to save me from peeling skin on my hands. This is why I was very happy to receive the Dove DermaSpa Indulgent Hand Treatment from Rubybox.

I put my hands through a lot, if they’re not lifting dumbbells at the gym, then they’re carrying plates and cutlery at work. As a result I have calluses on my hands and peeling skin. I experience this even more during the change of season and nothing I’ve used in the past has been able to help.

I’ve been using this product for the past two weeks and have really enjoyed my trial, I find that my hands feel instantly smoother after application and they look amazing. It contains a hint of shimmer which contributes to luminous looking skin.

The Dove Indulgent Hand Cream contains Omega Oil and cell moisturizers, and the fact that it is fast-absorbing means it gives gives your hands the ultimate spa experience- and it fits in your hand bag. It’s become the product I cannot leave home without these days.

While my hands still have a bit of peeling skin, they feel 100 times better than they did before I started using this product. I’m sure with continued use, dry hands will be a thing of the past for me- and I am so ready for that!

What Dove products have you tested? Which are your fave?

Nivea Perfect and Radiant Micellar Water

I’ve always been a fan of Micellar water for make up removal. It’s gentle on the skin and has great beauty benefits. So when I found out that Nivea had released their own Micellar range, I had to join the party.

Shout out to Rubybox for sending me this awesome product.

Firstly. Can we talk about the size of the bottle?! It’s huge. This is definitely gonna last me a few months. I hate having to restock products that finish too soon, especially something I use as often as make up remover.

What makes this different from other Micellar products?

Well for starters, it’s a three in one product that can be used for cleansing, removing make up and toning your face. So essentially- this is the only product you need. I have the entire Perfect and Radiant range now (thanks to Rubybox you guys rock) and I find that this product fits in perfectly with my skincare routine.

Also it’s great for days when I’m feeling lazy about cleansing my face, I just dab some product in a cotton wool swob and give my face a refreshing cleanse (also, saving water! #beatdayzero)

It removes make up effortlessly. My waterproof make up wipes off without having to scrub the skin off my face.

I often struggled, with previous Micellar products, to remove my mascara. But this product removes mascara quick and painlessly.

The formula is enriched with Vitamin E which contributes to easy make up removal, Radiant skin and it also leaves the skin feeling incredibly nourished and smooth.

A 400ml bottle will cost you R99.99 at any Clicks and Dischem store nationwide.

I’m definitely switching to this product in future for my make up removal needs.

Have you tried it? What did you think?

Until next time!

Get Ready for Summer with Elancyl (Review)

Cellulite is a part of every woman’s life, whether you choose to accept it or not. I know the first time I saw my cellulite I wanted to cry a little! That’s why I was really excited when Rubybox sent me the Elancyl Slim Design Cream which promises to tone, firm and soothe. I’ve tried many firming lotions before in the past but none have really worked for me – so I was keen to find out if this product would work.

First Impression:

The packaging is sleek and elegant and the bottle will fit easily into any traveling bags if you want to take it with on holiday. The cream itself smells amazing. It’s a brownish colour that leaves my skin feeling moisturized all day (literally ALL day!) and gives it a beautiful glow (it has some shimmer to it, giving you the summer glow that will stop traffic. It’s amazing.)

Final Review:

So I’ve been using it for the past two weeks (which is the amount of time they tell you to use it before you see results) the leaflet inside the box comes with massage instructions, which are quite specific to ensure you get the most out of your product and that it penetrates the skin well- it’s quite an arm workout.

As the two weeks progressed I started feeling a bit more confident in my skin, my buttocks and thigh area were looking a lot firmer and didn’t jiggle as much. But when I pinched my skin I still saw some cellulite.

Yesterday I compared before and after pictures and I can honestly say I’m satisfied with the result, I wasn’t expecting a miracle from this product but it’s definitely made my jiggly bits a bit firmer and made them looked toned. And when I did the “pinch test” I found that my cellulite was less visible! (YAS!)

Of course this product isn’t gonna do all the work for you, it goes hand in hand with regular squats, to get that summer booty you desire.
It goes for R395 at Dis-Chem pharmacies.
Thanks to Rubybox for hooking me up.

QUICKIE REVIEW!

Untitled design-5

usually not a big fan of using soap, in the past soaps have made my skin feel dry and rubbery after use.

When I received this product the first thing I noticed was it’s amazing scent, everyone that I’ve shared it with has said that’s their favourite thing about it.

Using the soap, in the shower my skin still gets a bit of a rubbery texture after use, but I noticed when touching my skin during the day that my skin is left feeling incredibly smooth and soft.

This product is great value for money!

NIVEA: Perfect and Radiant Review

Quickie Review!

I love Nivea, let’s just start with that. They provide affordable products that are great for your skin. Honestly.

Untitled design-2
I’ve used this product in the past and when Rubybox sent me some more this month, I was reminded how much I love this product. It’s a dream on my skin, it spreads easily and feels like I’m covering my skin with a silk mask. It provides all day smoothness and radiance. My skin has a beautiful glow all day and feel extremely nourished and refreshed! This is definitely value for money, you won’t regret it.

It’s a day cream, which contains SPF 15. (Hello, sun protection!) It fits well into your skin routine and will leave your skin feeling amazing! I pair it with the Nivea Gentle Cleansing Cream Wash and the Nivea Refreshing Toner.

xoxo,

Nadine!

Frequently Asked Questions about the Environ Step-Up System

Happy Friday, 20 Somethings!

So as I enter the second last week of my Environ skin Journey, I’m starting to take note of the effects the product has had on my skin. There are a few negative things but loads of positive things, so be sure to check out my post next week, where I will be giving you the final verdict on The Environ Skincare Range.

This week, I am focussing on their Original Debut Moisturiser (Vitamin Step-Up System Level 1)

This cream is light moisturiser containing a low concentration of Vitamin A which is essential as a skin Nutrient. It also contains Vitamin C and E as well as a combination of antioxidants, that will leave your skin feeling smooth and nourished. This moisturiser contributes to nourished skin and also improves the appearance of uneven skin tone as well as sun damage.

So let’s get into some of the most asked questions about this product, shall we?

Frequently Asked Questionsabout the EnvironStep-Up System

What are the signs that your skin is lacking vitamin A?
When your skin lacks Vitamin A, it will be uneven, rough and sallow. Due to loss of collagen and elastin, your skin may suffer from pre-mature ageing.

How does the Environ STEP-UP™ SYSTEM work?
This system starts on low levels of Vitamin A (I am currently using the Debut which is level 1) The moisturisers go up to Ultra, with the levels of Vitamin A increasing with every step.

How soon can you step up your moisturiser?
After going your first tube of the debut moisturiser, you can then do two tubes of the next levels each before moving on.
What are the different vitamin A derivatives – is the same form found in all skin care?
The different forms of vit A are Beta-Carotene, Retinyl Palmitate, Retinyl Acetate and Retinol. Different forms are used in different products.

What does vitamin A do for skin?
It helps to normalise skin functions and protects the DNA of cells and prevents sun induced aging while also hydrating the skin.

There you have it, if you have any other questions about the Environ Skincare Range, please don’t hesitate to send them to me! I’ll see you guys next week for my final review!
