Betadine Intimate Care Review

What’s up baby girl!

So I’ve been testing out the brand new Intimate Care range from Betadine for the past week.

I’ve always been a user of Intimate mate washes, the benefits for your lady bits are much better than using soap down there. You should NEVER be using soap on your intimate areas babes.

Why Not Soap?

Soap and shower gels can disturb the natural p.H. Levels of your lady bits because they are not designed for it. Your p.H. levels determines the acidity of your intimate area and is directly related to your health. Imbalanced p.H. levels can lead to unpleasant odour, irritation and itchiness.

It’s natural ingredients and TRI-CARE+ formula is combined with prebiotics to offer optimal daily protection from unwanted symptoms such as odour, itch and irritation associated with p.H. imbalance.

The Benefits?

  • Natural Ingredients
  • Gynaecologically Tested
  • Hypoallergenic
  • No Parabens or Colourants

My Review

I enjoyed using this product. Its got a very nice scent and is gentle on my intimate areas- leaving me feeling super fresh after a shower. The foam and the wash are both amazing products, but I think I prefer the wash as you only need a small amount and it foams up as soon as it’s applied.

Eliminate Winter Dryness!

Let’s not lie, Winter is great, you get to wear long pants for three months straight and cover up your body to keep warm. If you’re anything like me, that also means you say goodbye to your skincare routine. Not that I don’t care about my body, it’s just too cold in winter to stand naked while I moisturise my body from head to toe.

It’s great while it lasts, but then as summer approaches, I start to panic because my skin is dry and flaky and no where near bikini ready! This is normally when I start moisturising like a beast! But this year, I’ve found a duo which has changed the game. And you know how I love to share, so ladies meet your winter saviours:
The Nivea Pampering Shower Oil and the Dove Summer Revived lotion.

Okay, so the Nivea Pampering Shower Oil was recommended to me by a friend, who I’d spoken to about my dry skin and it has changed my life. It’s great because you can use it in the shower (No freezing your ass off while moisturising). I got such a surprise the first time I used it, when you squeeze it out, this golden oil comes out, but when you rub it on your skin, it foams! Creating a body wash that cleans your skin while also nourishing it, because it is made up of 55% natural oils. My skin feels like silk. And dry, flaky skin- it’s a thing of the past!

The Dove Summer Revived Lotion has been my little secret for the past few years. It’s a body lotion, that provides you with all the nourishment you’ve come to expect from Dove products. But the game changer? It contains a gradual tanner, which is natural and gentle on your skin. (Say goodbye to pale skin after winter- you’ll look like you just returned from a tropical island vacation all year round.) I’m not even exaggerating when I say that this product makes you glow. Literally, it leaves my skin with a glowing, golden shimmer. (Seriously, I get complimented on my leg tan all the time when I use the product!)

Why You Should Give Your Gyno A Call!

Hey 20 Somethings!

Now I know, there is nothing more awkward than the thought of having to undress from the bottom down and place your legs on stirrups, exposing yourself in places you’d rather not be exposed in. But let’s be real. Gynecologist appointments are something you just have to accept as a part of your female life.

A lot of 20 something women are under the impression that they only need to see a Gyno when they’re pregnant or trying to get pregnant. Nope! You should be seeing a gynaecologist as soon as you start having sex. Otherwise the recommended age to start making those appointments is 21.

Some experts say you should only schedule a pap once every three years, others recommend getting it done annually. It all depends on your body, you and your doctor will be able to discuss how frequent you should be coming in.

So what is a Pap Smear?
Pap Smears are tests that can detect abnormal cells in or on the cervix. (The type of cells that can be cancerous) Pap Smears help identify abnormal cells and treat them before they can become cancerous. (See why they’re important?)

Fact: Cervical Cancer is the number 1 ranked cancer in women aged 15 to 44 in South Africa.

It’s important you are educated about what’s going on down there. Ask your doctor lots of questions, it’s your body after all. Your doctor can also explain ways to avoid STDs and unwanted pregnancies if you are sexually active.

Another important conversation to have with your Gyno is whether to get the HPV Vaccination, which can help in preventing Cervical Cancer drastically.

Also, Gynecologists are not what our mother’s experienced, so if you’re worried about having a man all up in your business, stop. There are PLENTY of amazing female Gyno’s who will make you feel so comfortable and at ease.

So what are you waiting for? Schedule an appointment now!

Until next time!
